The main day of Chhath, with the evening arghya to the setting sun, is Sunday 15 November 2026.

Chhath Puja honours the Sun (Surya) and Chhathi Maiya. It is celebrated for four days, mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh and Nepal. Devotees fast without water for about 36 hours and offer arghya to the setting sun on the evening of Shashthi and to the rising sun the next morning.
