Sreesanth ,born February 6, 1983 in Kothamangalam, Kerala, India ,also known as S. Sreesanth, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, and Sreesunth for a brief perio), is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-arm fast-medium-pace bowler and a right-handed tail-ender batsman. In first class cricket, he plays for Kerala and in the Indian Premier League, he plays for Kings XI Punjab. He is the first Kerala Ranji player to play Twenty20 cricket for India. A player of passion, he is noted for his exuberant and emotional behaviour, especially whilst appealing for and celebrating wickets. Such trademark behaviour has seen him frequently fined for violating the player conduct guidelines of the International Cricket Council. He is known to bowl at speeds mostly around 142 km/h / 88 mph.

Outside cricket, Sreesanth is a psychology student. In his childhood, he was a breakdancer, and had become a national champion when he was in eighth grade.

In the 2002-03 domestic season Sreesanth made his first class debut with Goa as the opponent. In the Ranji Trophy in seven matches he took 22 wickets.

In the year 2005 he displayed a strong performance in the domestic limited overs Challengers Trophy tournament. He was successful in taking 7 wickets and had the third best average in the tournament. This led to the selection of Sreesanth for the Indian national squad to play his first ODI against Sri Lanka.

In his first match he was able to take 2 wickets but was punished badly by Kumar Sangakara and Sanath Jayasuriya. He was dropped for the next 2 games. Although his debut performance was not up to the mark, yet he was selected for the upcoming ODIs.

Sreesanth made his first test debut on March 1st 2006 against England. He replaced Zaheer Khan in the team as Zaheer was out with injury. He claimed 4 wickets for 95 runs in his first match.
