After completing his education, his father launched him in a lead role in Love Story (1981) opposite Vijayata Pandit, the sister of Bollywood actress, Sulakshana Pandit. The movie did very well, and catapulted him to fame virtually overnight. Thus, Kumar Gaurav was born and thronged by females of all ages.
Kumar Gaurav might be the son of a star father but his acting career is not at all that starry. He was most probably the first star son to be introduced by his celebrated father Rajendra Kumar in the film 'Love Story' (1981) opposite newcomer Vijayta Pandit, sister of Sulakshana Pandit. This was the only hit film that he ever had in his long career.
He had another hit in his credit courtesy his brother-in-law Sanjay Dutt and director Mahesh Bhatt's 'Naam' (1986). Otherwise rest of his films like 'Teri Kasam', 'Aaj', 'Goonj', 'Siyasat' and 'Sautela Bhai' has remained unheard of. He tried to make a comeback of sorts in films like 'Hai Meri Jaan' with Neelam and 'Phool' with Madhuri Dixit but was not successful.
His sign is cancer. He is having Cancer Ascendant with conjunction of Sun and Mercury. Mars and Venus are in twelfth house. Jupiter is in conjunction with Rahu in Sagittarius. Saturn is in Taurus.
He is dedicated to the people he cares about and conscientious about meeting his responsibilities, especially to family. Family solidarity and cohesiveness are very important to him and so, therefore, are the traditions, rituals, and memories that keep the bonds strong.
