Juhi Chawla |
Juhi Chawla was born on 13th November 1967 in Ludhiana, Punjab. Her parents are Dr.S.Chawla and Mona. She has a younger brother Sanjeev. Satish Anand, a film distributor in Karachi, Pakistan is her uncle.
Her first appearance on the tinsel screen was as Zarina in the 1986 release 'Sultanat'. She shot to fame after the release of 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' opposite Aamir Khan.She signed up for several movies like Love Love Love, Shandaar, Swarg, Kaafila and Prathibandh.In 1991, she acted in several Hindi, Tamil and Telugu movies. Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman with Shah Rukh Khan and Bol Radha Bol with Rishi Kapoor, released in 1992 did well.As of August 2007, she has been bestowed with three awards for her performance in 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke', 'Duplicate', and '3 Deewarein'.
Bas Ek Pal, Salaam-e-Ishq, Bhoothnath and Kismat Konnection were her other releases. She is part of the star cast of Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance, playing the role of Minty Rolly.
Juhi later turned producer and became the co-owner of a production company called Dreamz Unlimited with Shahrukh Khan and director Aziz Mirza.The first two films produced by the production company were Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Asoka. Their third film, Chalte Chalte was the first success for the company.
Juhi Chawla is married to industrialist Jai Mehta; the couple have two children; a daughter born in 2001 and a son born in 2003.Jai Mehta and Juhi Chawla are the co-owners of the Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders in partnership with Shahrukh Khan under their company Red Chillies Entertainment.
